Reply by voice. Say what you mean, not every word.
Dictation writes down every word you say. Sometimes you’d rather just say what you want to answer and let the words be written for you.

The short answer
With PocketMika, tap into the empty message box of any chat and hold the bubble. Describe your answer, like “tell her I ate and I’ll call tonight” or “say yes, but ask what time”. PocketMika reads the conversation on screen and writes a reply that fits. You read it, change it by voice if you like, and press Send yourself.
It’s made for any chat app with a normal message box, such as WhatsApp or Google Messages.
How it works
- Open the chat and tap the empty message boxYour keyboard comes up, and so does the bubble.
- Hold the bubble and describe your answer“Tell him I’m 10 minutes out”, “say thanks and that I loved it”.
- Read the reply, then press SendWant it different? Say the change, or “nope”.
Examples
| They said | You said | PocketMika wrote |
|---|---|---|
| did you eat?? call me 😠 | “Tell her I ate and I’ll call tonight” | I ate! I’ll call you tonight |
| Dinner Friday? | “Say yes, but ask what time” | Yes! What time? |
When it helps most
- Your hands are busy. Cooking, carrying, walking: say the gist and keep going.
- You know what to say, not how to put it. “Say no, nicely” is easier than writing the nice no.
- Typing is hard for you. For thumbs that hurt, or a brain that loses the thread halfway through a message, describing the answer is far less work than spelling it out.
Questions
Does PocketMika send messages for me?
Never. It writes the reply into the box and stops. Pressing Send is always yours.
How does it know what the chat is about?
Through Android’s Accessibility service, which you turn on during setup. In an empty message box it reads the chat on screen and remembers it, in your phone’s memory only. The chat itself is sent to write the reply only when you ask for one. You can turn chat reading off in PocketMika under You, then Privacy.
What if I just want my exact words typed?
Say them. A plain message is typed as you said it, cleaned up. A reply is written only when you describe one, like “reply…” or “tell him…”.
Will the reply sound like me?
It keeps the chat’s tone and your way of writing in that chat, short and lowercase if that’s how you text. If it’s off, say the change: “make it warmer”, “shorter”, or “nope”.
